Vectis Boat & Fishing junior League

The Vectis boat and fishing summer junior league was fished over four legs and attended by 32 young anglers. Jordan Abbott was a clear winner with a massive total of 3732 points. Second place went to Calib Scott who picked up 618 points on the final leg giving him a total of 2133. Jack Miskin took third place overall with 1574 and had the notable Wrasse of 320gms.  Another sweep winning fish was a Golden Grey Mullet of 615gms for James Davies. The presentation held at the club house in Ryde was followed by a Bar B Q provided by the members.  Competition secretary Colin Webb thanked all the stewards, sponsors and helpers for the hard work

Andy Manning junior open

Ventnor angling and social club hosted the Andy Manning junior open at Wheelers Bay last Sunday with 50 juniors aged between 4 and 15 attending. The overall winner was Jordan Smith who won the £75 prize donated by contract distribution services with 1069 points. Jordan registered a total of 56 fish and won the best over 12 prize donated by Chris Basham. Second place went to 14 year old Abi Plunknett with 49 fish and a total of 827 points. Jake Bravery took third place with 652 points and 40 fish. 10 year old Lee Coats won the best under 12 category as well as taking fourth place with 473 points. Blackadder donated a Rod for the longest fish which was a Wrasse of 29cm landed by Rhys Catling. All 50 entrees received a prize from the table sponsored by Target Traces, Scotties Tackle and pure fish. 743 fish were registered and all were returned to the sea alive. Ventnor committee would like to thank all the helpers, stewards, and sponsors for making the day such a success.
